Wildlife Photography - Malawi (2017)

This a compilation of 28 photo taken during my residence at Liwonde National Park, Malawi as research assistant and media volunteer for the African Bat Conservation (ABC) project.
The Vervet Monkey is an arboreal monkey which means that it spends most of its time in the safety of the trees. Although they do venture down to the ground in search of both food and water, Vervet Monkeys rarely go further than 450 meters from the trees, which helps to protect them from predators.

When a vervet monkey gets used to stealing nothing can hold him off for eternity to come .. Here, a captured vervet is getting prepared for rehabilitation to a place, a little further from tourists' bags and sunglasses!
Being a medium-sized species (weighing between 60 to 159 kg), African warthogs need to depend on their to sets of 90 degrees razor tusks to dig, combat with each other or defend themselves against predators, when provoked they can really inflect serious damage and maybe break a person's leg! 
In the zenith of Malawian sun, hippopotamus ofted maintain a cooler temperature by submerging their bodies in the water. However, this expelled one, looks to have escaped a fearful battle, went wondering on its own with many scars covering his whole body.
