Revival of Sultana craft.
The project brief was to utilise the metal wire wrapping technique from the Sultana craft, which is a dying traditional craft from the Sultana region of Rajasthan. Our products of choice were a stool seating and a lampshade.
Stool
metal framework, made by welding together pieces of bend GI wire.

Lampshade
Our next product was a lampshade. We stuck to clean, symmetrical and contemporary forms for our products as these highlight the Sultana craft best.
to explore a different material, we used grey and white telephone wires.
we also tried a different looping way to secure the telephone wires to the metal framework.
