aero is a two piece biking safety device that utilizes PIR motion sensors to notify bikers of movement around them when they are on the road.
PIR Motion Sensors
PIR sensors (Passive Infrared) detect infrared light emitting from objects up to 20 feet away.
aero implements these sensors in a ring-like formation inside a device that latches onto the back of a bicycle seat. This device is solely meant to detect motion coming from different directions encompassing the bike.
From there, that information is sent to another device via bluetooth which will latch between the handlebars of a bicycle for convenient user accessibility. This device will light up in certain regions around the rim to indicate to the user in which direction the motion is sensed.
The interface on the top of the handlebars has a sleek finish to it due to its LED display.
The lights around the rim of the display will light up accord to the direction of the motion sensed in order to safely alert bikers of their surroundings in a simple yet effective manner. This eliminates any risk of accident due to lack of attention on the biker's part.
