The Roald Dahl Project
Roald Dahl was a celebrated children’s author. He was immensely popular for his quirky characters and vivid style of story-telling. His stories were known for their wacky sense of humour and kooky words. I have been reading Roald Dahl’s books since I was a child and loved the original illustrations in the books done by Quentin Blake. However I always wanted to do my own version of what famous characters like Willy Wonka and Charlie would look like. In my project I have taken three of my favourite books - Charlie and the chocolate factory, BFG- The Big Friendly Giant and James and the giant peach. I have tried to bring out the feel and general ambience of these books as a conceptual artwork in my style. It is my tribute to one of my favourite authors.
