Letícia Mendes Nogueira, known among her peers as Kalymaracaya, an indigenous name belonging to the Terena tribe, cook, born in Bananal village Taunay District of Aquidauana, Mato Grosso do Sul, on January 12, 1981. She is the only indigenous chef in Brazil.

Letícia Mendes Nogueira, conhecida como Kalymaracaya, nome de origem indígena, pertencente à tribo Terena, cozinheira, nascida na aldeia Bananal Distrito de Taunay de Aquidauana, Mato Grosso do Sul, no dia 12 de Janeiro de 1981. Frente a seu tempo é a única chef indígena do Brasil.
Inspired by the pottery paintings produced by the Terena Indians, the lines and patterns used in the visual language of the Chef refer to the terenas women who make the pieces. On the day of production, they do not cook to avoid contact with salt, which they say is an enemy of the clay, do not work when they are menstruating or during the new moon. The men only harvest the clay and help in the burning of the pieces. It is the largest indigenous ethnic group of MS, with about 18 thousand terenas.

Inspirada nas pinturas da cerâmica produzida pelos índios terena, as linhas e padronagens utilizadas na linguagem visual da Chef, remetem às mulheres terenas, que fazem as peças. Em dia de produção, elas não cozinham para não ter contato com o sal, que dizem ser inimigo do barro, não trabalham quando estão menstruadas e nem durante a lua nova. Os homens só colhem o barro e ajudam na queima das peças. É a maior etnia indígena de MS, com cerca de 18 mil terenas.
The color was inspired by the earthy reddish ceramics and clay. Black and white, are the contrast of the body paintings used in terena symbology. In indigenous cultures that work with ceramics, this type of art goes beyond the material dimension and is inserted in a larger universe, which includes social relations, the relation with nature and with the supernatural. Both art and technology practices are intertwined with these other dimensions.

A cor foi inspirada pela cerâmica e argila avermelhada. Preto e branco, são o contraste das pinturas corporais usadas na simbologia terena. Nas culturas indígenas que trabalham com a cerâmica, esse tipo de arte ultrapassa a dimensão material e é inserido em um universo maior, que inclui relações sociais, a relação com a natureza e com o sobrenatural. As práticas de arte e tecnologia estão interligadas com essas e outras dimensões.
