UKA-17 – Rebranding Norways Biggest Cultural Festival

This project shows the complete rebranding of Norways biggest cultural festival, UKA, which takes place every second year in the city named Trondheim. The festival is unique in that it is based purely on volunteer work put in by students from the different fields of study in the city.
The new visual identity is built around a handfull of graphical elements with an unique colour palette handpicked to work together as duotones. Rebranding the festival included creating new designs for every aspect of the festival, namely various editorial products, a new webpage, designs for social media and designs for lots of merch, clothing and other physical products.
The grid for the program poster is based on the ancient design-principle of the golden ratio, calculated with the fibonacci sequence. For added flexibility some oblique lines were drawn between the then existing lines.
Thank you for your time!
