Minal Studio is a personal brand for myself - Tom Cheal (shameless plug ;) ).
The brief
I wanted to be able to have a place to post my work and have a brand that I am proud of to approach clients with. This project is part of my final project for my last year at University, which I am currently producing a variety of different projects (specifically branding oriented) for a book, which this branding I have decided to include. (I will post the work when it is done).
The design needs to be simple enough to reflect my style, but also allow it to adapt to different situations.
Time scale
This project is the results of two weeks work. As for the other projects I have also allocated two/three weeks as I have a strict deadline to meet.
The solution
Many designers and students brand themselves under their own name, which I have done, and I will continue to post work under my own name. But my aim was to make a brand which felt more professional, which is why I have decided to brand it as a studio.
The sole purpose of Minal is to allow me to be as creative as possible and bring some energy and fun to my designs and not restrict my style. This idea of being minimal and bold inspired the name. The designs need be eye catching and appealing to look at. This emphasises the minimal and clean look, however the brand design should allow for creativity and exploration.
