The brief for this project was to complete a comprehensive production design scheme for a companion show to The Dating Ball, which would act as a mid-week catch-up chat show. The design, therefore, had to reflect that of its parent show yet accommodate for a smaller studio and different format. I continued to take some inspiration from the Art Deco movement as well as luxury high society hotels such as The Ritz, The Savoy and Claridge’s and consequently decided to base my set on the design of hotel bars.

Hosts, guests, entrances, monitors for pre-recorded material or a live link-up, activity space and a multi-camera filming set-up all needed to be taken into account. I produced research, construction drawings by hand, concept art, material references and a 1:50 scale card model for this design scheme.
