The Farmer's Dilemma

The Farmer’s Dilemma is a two-player strategy game that I created in response to the prompt: “design a social exchange”. I was interested in exploring how a game designer could create and control an interaction between two people. It is a strategic thinking game in which players are forced to anticipate each other’s behaviour. The game is designed around the Prisoner’s Dilemma, a game theory in which two rational decision-makers, who use strategic behaviour to maximize profits by trying to guess the other’s behaviour, may end up being collectively worse off. I created three posters which illustrate the three possible outcomes form the exchange between the two players at the end of the game.
