PROJECT 1: GRADE 12 RANDOMS (yearbook inspiration)
For this project we had to compile a collection of photos into one indesign file and design a "yearbook" page using this years design theme. This years theme dealt with triangles for the pages, which is reflected in the project.
PROJECT 2: COMPLETED YEARBOOK PAGES
For this project we had to complete pages to be used in the actual yearbook. We stuck to the triangle theme and brightened up dark photos. The two pages we finished were hockey and curling.
PROJECT 3: COLOUR THEORY WORKSHEET
PROJECT 4: COLOUR PALETTE
For this project, I chose a colourful landscape with cool colours that stand out. I think these colours blend well together and make the picture look nice.
PROJECT 5: DESIGN ELEMENTS
EMPHASIS/CONTRAST
Contrast is when a design element stands out from the rest, this is shown by having rows of squares with a random triangle placed in the middle. This photo also showcases emphasis by not only having the triangle in the middle, but by having it be a different colour.
PROXIMITY/GROUPINGS
Relationships are created between design elements when proximity is involved, as seen in this photo the two rows of polygons are separated. This gives the illusion that these two rows are somehow different when they're exactly the same.
BALANCE
Within graphic design there are 3 different types of balance. These include:
1. Symmetrical balance (Elements stay the same when separated in half.)
2. Asymmetrical balance (Elements do not stay the same when separated in half.)
3. Radial balance (Elements are arranged around one shared point.)

The picture above is an example of symmetrical balance, I split the rectangle in half and changed the colour of one half to showcase that both sides are the exact same when separated.
ALIGNMENT
Alignment deals with elements being all lined up in a certain way. Alignment is used to draw a viewers eyes to a certain part of the screen. As seen in this example, all text is aligned to the left side of the screen, drawing the viewers eyes to the text rather than the blank space. They are also all aligned within the same "line".
HARMONY
Harmony is a design element that makes certain aspects look as if they belong together. In the above example this is achieved by having the triangles be all spaced out even and at the same distances, as well as them being the same colour.
WHITE SPACE
White/Negative space is space used in a design to help draw attention to a certain aspect or to make a design look neat and clean. In the example above, white space is used to make the text easier to read.
REPETITION
Repetition is the process of repeating same graphic design elements to achieve a look of similarity. In the above photo, lines that are the exact same are repeated to enforce a sense of similarity on a viewer.
COLOUR
Colour is important to graphic design pieces as it can help create a theme or make the design pop out to viewers. Certain colours work well together and are often categorized together, as shown above.
TYPOGRAPHY
Typography is the use/arrangement of words in a graphic design space. Text can be highlighted within a design or used to create an image out of words, as shown above.
PROJECT 6: GRAD ANNNOUNCEMENT
This is my inspiration photo for my grad announcement project, I like the simple and compact design of the image.
Final product of my grad announcement.
7. PHOTO RESTORATION
ORIGINAL
FINISHED PRODUCT
For this project we had to repair a damaged photo using photoshop. After we had used the clone stamp to repair the photo we had to use different layers/layer masks to colourize the photo.
8. FORCED PERSPECTIVE

In this project we had to use angles and manipulation to create a picture with a forced perspective. In my photo I had the shoes brought forward and the person brought backwards, I then lined them up and made it seem as if they were wearing giant shoes.
9. MINI EFFECT
For this project we had to take a photo in which it had a focus, then blur parts of the photo to make it appear as if the focus was smaller. To achieve this we used photoshop and various tools within it.
