CliX

Industrial design, 2017

More than ever, doctors are connecting with patients through their smart devices, to consult with each other. Technology offers convenience and cost-effective interactions between doctors and patients. This project is a case study collaboration with the design team of Pull, create a vision for future telemedicine that integrates virtual reality and drone technologies.

CliX is an advanced VR System that is designed for leveraging virtual diagnoses. It consists of a VR headset and an autonomous drone.

Once the doctor begins a remote diagnosis, the patient’s drone camera is navigated by the doctor’s headset. The doctor will be able to check the patient’s situation with the drone camera. Through the built-in thermometer, heartbeat sensor and eye scanner on the patient's headset, the doctor will use these clinical information to provide accurate diagnosis.

On the other hand, the patient will interact with the doctor through the drone camera and VR headset, just like an in-person visit. With CliX system, patients do not need to wait, or exposure to the risk of infection at the hospital before they need advanced examinations.

The headset delivers high quality sounds through built-in bone conduct earphones, transferring the user’s voice from mini microphone. It is also adjustable for people with myopia or hyperopia. CliX could be integrated into a part of future home care system. While they stay at home and using the VR headset, the front displayer will show patient’s vital signs, provide their family members or care workers real time patients’ health data.

The project was published on from magazine issue 278 in 2018.
