About A Face

A couple Years ago I made this mask out of plaster of Paris gauze strips. I didn’t have enough to finish the whole face so it was left with only one eye. So I made a second one out of tightly wound string, acrylic binder and black paint, with a philips head screw for the iris and pupil. It was rather dark and moody, so I took some photographs of the mounted mask and saved them till I decided to do this exhibition.

I thought this project was going to have a very moody dystopian feeling, and at points it does. However upon completing an image for this exhibition, it really changed things up for the overall mood of the rest of the project. There was something in the face, as if he was seeing something that caught his full attention.
And then I found the colors and then the light and finally the love. Here it is...
This is the only image I named. I call this artwork,  “STARGAZER”.
This last one was my favorite
