Spirit Fest 2017
At Spirit Fest we worked with the event organizers to create a custom inflatable lounge area. We provided sketches and 3D models to mock up the layout of the festival. Using these models, we realized our original proposal would encroach significantly on the crowds in front of the stages so we modified the designs accordingly.
We also coordinated with the local Fire Marshall to ensure the structure would be safe and up to city building codes by adding emergency exits and lighting, no smoking signs, and a posted occupancy that was enforced at the entrance through a badge system.
Early prototypes
Our earliest prototypes were made from paper models and taped together trash-bags where we tested our custom written projection mapping software. We eventually purchased a sewing machine and began testing different materials, shapes, and fabrication techniques at a larger scale.
