*Last week I got a text from a friend asking if I wanted to shoot some dancers at sunrise. Since I am a normal human being who has little interest in being awake before the sun is, I was understandably apprehensive. Then that knee-jerk reaction passed and I said yes.
A few seconds later, he sent another text saying it was the New York City Ballet at the Whitney Museum. I was floored. These are the images I made in collaboration with those dancers. Thanks to Chris Ozer, the Whitney, NYC ballet, and the Jacob Jonas Dance Company for creating this #camerasanddancers event.
*all natural light was used. my goal was to focus on the marvel that is a dancers body, the intricacies, and the strength, through intimate portraiture.
