Set of objects "Blue/Total Fake/China". In this set, I mixed naive forms and pragmatic design. The main object of the set is a teapot. It's made in the traditional Slavic style. Similar objects were used to store kvass. They were called Kvassniks and had a donut shape. The second object is a vase, which is simply a half of the teapot.
Continuing the traditions of porcelain maker, I illustrate everyday life on my products. Today I see how simple things turning into objects of desire. My childhood was in the 1990s, which were accompanied by a lot of fakes. I remember clothes with several labels on it at once. People wanted to have all brands at once. And I’m using the similar approach. I greedily fill the objects surfaces with various logos. Thus, I give the highest status value to my objects. That makes them literally the most expensive and formally fake.
At work, I used the technique of slip-casting porcelain. The porcelain was painted transparent glaze with underglaze blue designs.
