This project was aroused from homesickness, but it covers displacemnt, banality, loneliness and domesticity. And then the movie A Ghost Story inspires me a lot. Its plot and lines put people in a melancholy mood.
When you leave the place you called home for a very long time, you cannot adapt to the new enviroment completely without missing the old place. However, people don’t have a choice not to move. Thus I want to draw a story of house to present the emotions of people who have to leave their former home.

When people leave or move house, they usually cover the furniture with white cloth. And the ghost in A Ghost Story also hid inside a white cloth. It conveys sad emotion on parting and nostalgia. So I intend to use still life to depict a house under a white cloth as a carrier of loneliness, uncertainty and different emotions.
I use a limited colour palette to reflect the themes: Blue-green is the only colour. It maintains blue’s coldness and green’s meaning of hope. So the ball in blue-green is a symbol of memories running through all three pieces.
