Cardiovascular disease is the leading global cause of death. However, this isn't known by enough people. At the time I was asked to create this ad campaign, my grandfather had just had emergency triple bypass surgery, partially (but really mainly) caused by smoking a pipe for over 40 years.
So with that in mind, I created three different advertisements that had to do with different types of smoking. I wanted to bring it to the viewers attention, that smoking isn't always associated with lung cancer, it can have a major impact on your heart. The American Heart Association has what they call "Life's Simple 7," which explains seven different causes of cardiovascular disease and what you can do to prevent it. All of the advertisements lead the viewer back to that website, always showing them how they can prevent cardiovascular disease.
