This is a re-do of a project that was originally assigned in September of 2011. The assignment was to brand an emotion, and my assigned emotion was ENVY, which means to feel discontented or resentful of a longing desire of someone else's posessions or attributes.
I identified the goals of the brand to aim to grant women's deepest desires and build an effective business strategy. ENVY has a line of products (potions!) that grants the customer her wish: Esteem (recognition/prestige), Sex (beauty/attractiveness to men), and Wealth (duh, money). The customer can purchase the anecdote to her sinful desire; she will instantly start making more money or get her high-paying dream job, or her male eye candy will finally ask her out on a date, etc. And, she will sense that other women around her are becoming jealous of her, and she likes that feeling of superiority. However, as soon as the potion has secreted from her body, those gratifying feelings of wealth and prestige will fade, so she will have to drink more of her potion. These women are not capable of being truly satisfied with what she has already been blessed with or earned; she always wants more & more and will not stop until she receives the recognition she feels she has earned. The ENVY products offer only a temporary solution to their ill emotions. Read Less
