Kansas City Monarchs of the Negro Leagues

KANSAS CITY MONARCHS OF THE NEGRO LEAGUES

The lasting influence of the Negro Leagues cannot be overstated. They created a stage of talented men and women who had been disregarded by major league baseball based solely on their skin color.

This talent would grow to a point that baseball's major league could no longer ignore it.

The existence of the Negro Leagues allowed for the eventual integration of baseball and soon all major sports in the United States. The Negro Leagues would change, not only what baseball looked like, but how it was played.

The accomplishments of the Negro Leagues players and baseball's integration are key stepping stones in our own country's on-going journey to a more racially-tolerant nation.
