Debris:

The following images are part of a series that focuses on pieces of debris that were found along a section of railroad next to Mirus’ studio: a tattered piece of plastic bag, broken mirror and six pack rings. By turning his attention to these items and applying techniques often reserved for luxury goods, Mirus transforms and elevates these pieces of detritus. As a photographer, he takes great interest in trying to breathe new life into forgotten materials and in making the obsolete fresh again. Mirus invites viewers to question our consumerist habits and cycle as well as appreciate the importance of being able to see the beauty in the mundane and banal objects that we pass by daily.
