Travel poster of Finnish Lapland
End of 2017, Come To Finland, in partnership with Arktikum Museum and the city of Rovaniemi, organised the second edition of My Finland Poster: a contest of posters promoting Finland and its regions.
Lapland being the focus for this 2018 edition, the season or location didn’t matter, the only requirement was for the participants to give their vision of Lapland.
As a fan of this region and having been lucky enough to explore it through multiple road trips, I decided to give my own perspective namely infinite roads winding through fir and birch trees under the winter light or when the last rays of sunshine mix with the stars and reflect on the lakes.
Unfortunately my poster wasn’t shortlisted in the top 10. But since it’s always important to see the positive in the negative, this now allows me to present this project on which I’ve worked intensely on for 2 weeks.
Enjoy winter wonderland in Finland!

Because of the deadline, I only did a few sketches to find the right idea. Among the 3 ideas I’ve discarded, one will certainly be used for a future project and another was too complex to design in a couple of weeks.
Once the idea was here, I had to find the right range of colours to transcribe the vibe of Lapland’s winter landscapes.

My final design was printed in France on Canson Arches Velin Museum Rag 315g. A wonderful paper with a tiny texture and a type of grain that brings some relief to the final design.
It's a real pleasure to see my print with these strong colours with a mat effect. You will see the textures on these pictures in more details.
