William and I decide to create our own project for our specialization, because we want to solve hidden problems that existed in our society, from people that really need help but don't know where to go.
We decide to build a team of two because I will focus on the UI and UX and he will focus on the programming. Because we worked together in the past and also friends, we think that we will be a pretty good team. He's more into the technical part and I'm more visual, we decide to do the concept together. Usually what happened is I have lot's of ideas ( some realistic and some not haha ) and William will be the one who sees if it's a realistic idea ( he's the analyst haha).
So at the very beginning when we already decide we become one team, we brainstorm together. What problem there is, and what can we help to solve it. We came up with a lot of ideas, and the one we choose is the idea of Indonesian Food Website, well you might be asking, what's so special about food website? isn't there many already? No, my friend.
This idea is brilliant!
This Indonesian website could solve problems in the Indonesian food community all over the world. (but currently, we want to focus it in the Netherlands). The website itself provides a platform where all Indonesian food lover ( contributors or people that just love to eat Indonesian food) could meet and share their recipes or even buy the ingredients they need and even buy the food directly from trusted Indonesian cooks of their selection.
So we will work together with Asian / Regular supermarkets, so people could see what ingredients in on sale and which ingredients are available in which supermarket. And if they're too busy to go to the supermarket, they could order it online with our website. The ingredients also will be shown directly in the recipes.
We will also we working together with the Indonesian Community in the Netherlands, because we know there's a lot of Indonesian wives or mothers that follow their husbands that working or studying masters in the Netherlands and usually the open a catering service. It is not really efficient for them because usually, they promote their food through mouth to mouth. Now we provide them a platform, so they could sell their food easily and gain popularity along the way.
With this website, we not only help the community around us but also promote Indonesian name and show that we are proud to be Indonesian.
We came up with the name of the website, Rasa Nusantara.
Why Rasa Nusantara? because I think to represent Indonesia especially Indonesian culinary, we need to use a name that really symbolizes Indonesia. that's why I came up with the name Rasa Nusantara. Rasa meaning flavor and Nusantara is the other name of Indonesia, it means islands that spread from Sumatra until Papua.
So, I think the name speaks for itself that the website will contain all different and wonderful flavors of Indonesia from the east to west.
