The Story of 'Merah'

The Story of Merah is created by the curator in collaboration with an illustrator, Sanuri Zulkefli an on displayed at KL Biennale 2017, Malaysia National Art Gallery. The story is based on 'Merah', a cat saved by Sue Ulik Mayang, an owner of a wedding dress boutique, who eventually become a lover of street cats. The curator feels that this story can instill in society a love for not only cats but also other animals. The tragedy faced by 'Merah' led Sue to change her career, and now she dedicates her life adopting and raising abandoned cats in her apartment in Sentul. The story of 'Merah' is one of the stories about love that can inspires us to have love and compassion towards other creatures that live together with us in this world.
