I made this zine to explore communication design and build awareness about EthiCAL on the UC Berkeley campus.
Where do our profits go? What is our mission statement? What impact do we have on the community?
I thought that the zine would be the best medium to answer these questions for prospective members and customers. Before I dived into the design process, I worked closely with EthiCAL's VP of Marketing to make sure my design was consistent with the our branding and that I touched base on every aspect of EthiCAL that is often overlooked. In other words, I wanted to know how I can best capture EthiCAL in 6 pages. I sent iterations to her throughout the whole designing process for feedback and this is the final result!
More than 150 students stopped by our table on Sproul and Calapalooza to pick up a copy of our zines! They were very interested in learning that we do more than just sell our apparel line on campus and wanted to see how they can get more involved with our work with Kiva and the community beyond campus!
