Lively reinterpretation of the deadly sins
The traditional definition of sin is centered on certain behaviors falling short of a moral or religious ideal. This interpretation has always seemed overly impersonal to me, as it fails to consider the personal background and the reasons of self-destructive or hurtful actions.
In this series of photographs of a young woman, I portray the seven deadly sins in a way that offers insight into the fears and insecurities behind them. Concentrating on personality traits and psychological well-being encourages meaningful reflection on the true nature of ‘sin’ and can help develop balanced self-esteem.
