Cultivating Curiosity

Evette Cordy is a Co-founder of Agents of Spring. She has solved business problems and worked on innovation and new product and service development for many of the world’s best-known brands.
She had written a book about cultivating curiosity and wanted the design and layout to evoke the emotional benefit of feeling excited about possibilities, the journey to seek out new possibilities and to challenge the reader to see things differently.
The key design traits that were needed to be conveyed were: bold, uncluttered layouts which balanced the illustrations created by Bianca Loiacono and of course be legible but also slow the reader down, so that they could take in the information from each chapter. There are six colour-coded chapters in total, which all have a specific design personality. Those being the Rebel, Zen-master, Novice, Sleuth, Interrogator and Play-maker.
Typography was treated in a consistent manner throughout, but also gave chapters their own visual language, which broke out of the traditional design and layout of this book genre.
