This artwork was inspired by a real snake :D Snakes have a surprisingly smooth, pleasant body surface! 

So I drew a snake among flowers; I’ve chosen the peonies because of their beautiful, fluffy petals.

Everything started with a black and white ink artwork. I used a coated paper of A3 size and ink liners.

My goal was to convey the lightness, airiness of this drawing, so I emphasized the contrast of darker areas and left some lighter places almost untouched.

Then I added a digital painting layer in Adobe Photoshop, starting from the big color masses and proceeding to smaller details and hue nuances.
