Loosely based on the constellation Pavo, visible among the "Southern Birds" constellation series in the Southern Celestial Hemisphere. The constellation is appropriately named - Pavo shows off with a brilliant annual meteor shower, the Delta Pavonids. Here, Alpha Pavonis, the brightest star in this constellation, would land roughly in our peacock's iris.
