A personal project involving Concept art, Background painting, and Character design, for now...
Temporarily I call it "イベリアで Iberica".
It is set in Portugal and Iberian fauna (extant and extinct) and habitats are the main inspirational elements. Portuguese elements and of other Mediterranean countries will also be visible in the architecture and culture.

Rain brings out the salamander spirits (below)
In nights of heavy rain, one can see giant salamander-spirits come out of the depths of rivers to populate wells, ponds and streams with their larva.

As Timão grew older, his mother showed the places of wonder that he must know of, so that his people's already faded memory would not be lost. "Honour our land and its creatures, and its ground. Be welcoming to strangers and show them what you have inherited. Share your stories and cherish these memories so that the spirits are not forgotten."
