NICK DRAKE
When the first time my friend play Nick Drake’s album for me, I feel like that I was swallowed into it.
Even there were some strange notes, the melody and rhythm still sound perfect for me. The vocal part is light and calm, like a slow-flowing river.
My friend told me that Nick Drake thought people in his time didn’t like his music. Suffered from major depression, he died of antidepressants overdose on 26.
I spent a night to think about the question: why wouldn’t people like his music?
In next 2 weeks, I listened nothing but Nick Drake’s music and couldn’t stop myself.
It’s been 10 years, I still consider Nick Drake as one of the best folk musician in the world.
The eponymously titled compilation album “Nicke Drake” captured the essence of his short life and music career.
In the album cover, Nick Drake standing by the wall, looking at a fast-walking man, like a silent observer. Maybe the man would became his inspiration in those sleepless nights.
So I made this little COSMICA comic for him, as my tribute.
当朋友第一次把Nick Drake的cd放给我听的时候，我整个人都被吸进去了。
音调有时有点奇怪，但旋律又那么完美，唱得非常轻，非常冷静，就像缓慢流动的水面。
朋友告诉我他26岁就死了，因为没人喜欢他的音乐，一直服用抗抑郁的药，最后服药过量。
我花了一晚上都没想通为什么没人喜欢。
接下来两个星期我一直在听他的歌，停不下来。
这已经是10年前了，到现在我仍然认为他是最好的民谣歌手。
这张同名精选集是Nick Drake短暂人生的浓缩。
他是这个世界的观察者，就像封面那样，就那样站在那里，看着路上的人走过，也许那个人就是他当晚失眠时创作的灵感。
我用我正在创作的cosmica系列漫画来纪念他，向他致敬。
