My BA Thesis promotes acceptance for all genders through gender inclusive language. The german language corresponds strongly with gender. Every noun describing a group of people is congruent with the masculine form. To open the binary and asymmetrical language, linguistic methods have been developed. The Genderstern (Gender-star) is the most popular of these methods and the focus of this project.
Posters show gender-typical objects and return them to their usage and function regardless of gender. The gender binary is opened by using the star in the phrase Für jede*n mit... (For everybody with...), while jede is the feminine and jeden the masculine form which is enhanced by the Genderstern.
Brochures offer theoretical input and practical help for the usage of gender friendly language.
Stickers and gifs support self-initative on the streets and in the internet. Both elements ask whether everybody is meant and conclude that all are addressed when writing with a star.
