This logo is for a Christian business called "Revival in the Pews" and their non-smoking division. Specifically, this branch of their company focuses on sponsoring people that seek to quit smoking through religious encouragement, the sponsor in question being referred to as a quit coach. I was hired to design the logo for this division.
This is the first draft of the logo. I chose sky blue to match the business's branding of their other collateral, though I found the lack of contrast in the logo to be troubling. Since the client is a Christian company, I decided to reflect that by making the cigarette smoke into the shape of a dove. I also made a cross to take the place of the lowercase t in Quit.
The second iteration of the logo has more contrast with a deep brick red and cobalt blue. It was decided that the dove in the cigarette smoke as an unnecessary addition, so it was removed in the second draft. I chose to use an italicized font instead of a script for legibility purposes. I also moved up the word Coach so it's on the same line as Quit so the logo wouldn't feel unbalanced.
This is a variation of the logo with the words on different lines like the first draft, but the break isn't as severe to prevent glaring imbalance between them.
