Design Hero: Marta Bordes

Marta Bordes links simple ceramic components together with elastic cords to create playful, moveable and engaging lamps. The reason that I've chosen her as one of my design heroes is because she challenges the materials that she works with.

Typically, ceramics has a reputation of being fragile, heavy and 'not to be touched' but her work challenges that as its supped to be moved, touched and played with, adding a fresh touch to that material.

I personally really like tactile designs, I like something that I can touch and use without fear of breaking it, and I feel like the nature of these lamps encourages me to interact with them.
