Hz is a kinetic and interactive light installation which reacts to the involuntary movement of your heart.

A centrical rotating and blinking LED bar is controlled by the connection of the beholder with the installation.

The incoming signal of a pulse sensor defines the speed of the rotation and the intensity of the light. Each heartbeat equates to a 360° rotation.

Creating an intimate situation between you and the functions of your own body, this projects sheds some light on the almost forgotten movements we can hardly control.

Hz was exhibited during the Biophilic Design exhibition at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich, Germany.
Music: Atom TM – Ich Bin Meine Maschine
Study mentor: Prof. Ralph Ammer.
Hz was built with Arduino, using a pulse sensor, a stepper motor and a programmable LED strip.
