A concept was created that incorporates the friendly, lighthearted, diverse Brazilian culture and pairs with existing logo elements of Rio 2016. Brazil is famous for its samba dance that has a light, energetic look and feel. The energetic look and feel come from the linear, circular and swing movements of the body which is incorporated in the pictogram design. Colors were selected that complemented the Rio 2016 logo and assigned to various categories so that they can be easily spotted on signage.
