I can't, I won't

Anxiety is something that I struggle with every day.
What do you struggle with?

Simple things such as getting on a train to university and going to the shop alone can trigger me to feel anxious or have a panic attack. With this project I highlighted the implications of mental health and metaphorically expressed the effects it has on me (and possibly other people). I’ve spent the past couple of weeks documenting how my anxiety has pushed me to avoid certain situations. Buses and trains heavily triggered me and I’ve stopped myself using public transport over the past year, so I felt it was important to include how it manifested.

When I have more time to resolve this idea I would like to make it more inclusive and get other people involved, even people who don’t suffer with their mental health. I want people to submit photographs to me of a situation they struggle with.

Developing this piece I’d like to go bigger with my work, experiment with installations and really challenge myself to connect with my fears again, this concept would work well to showcase that everyone struggles with something.
