Kyogawara Planters

These planters were designed to connect people with nature and the beautiful Japanese traditional technique of Kyogawara. We can arrange them according to our taste and size of the plants resulting in interesting and architectonic compositions.

The project motivation was to design something new with this craft which is mainly used to manually produce Japanese temples, shrines and houses roof tiles. The main feature is the meticulous high-quality clay polishing process with metal blades that attribute an astonishing bright aspect.

This project was supported by the well-known Japanese artisan Masahisa Asada, family’s third generation working with Kyogawara through Asada Kawara Factory in Kyoto, Japan.
