Group project made on fourth year of university, the brief was to project something according to the theme “Exposure and Privacy on the Daily Life” and had to incorporate five parameters: it had to be systemic, physical, projected for industrial scale, integrated to a visual system and to a virtual network.

After weeks of brainstorming and quick prototyping we decided on our product: Mudí, a plant sensor for small homeowners that live in a big city, want more nature inside their homes but have difficulties taking care of their plants. The sensor measures pH, temperature, soil humidity and sunlight, with every information automatically synced with an app (the account can also be accessed via website) that will let you know when the plant needs to be watered and how long to stay in the sun for. To make things a bit different and to engage the user more, we gamified the product. If the user wants, they can download the game, that would be linked to their real life plants, every time the real life plants are watered for example, the game plant will become stronger and would be able to fight off the intruders of the game. Inside the game it’s also possible for users to trade plants, accessories and fertilizer in real life, building a community of plant lovers.

I was responsible for the brand, app and website design, Livia was responsible for character design and the physical model of the product and Bruno for the product design and game animation.
