Below is a family of three album covers I did for Lo-Flo Records. Running Around, Barnaby Finn's Cafe and One Day At A Time are both available in vinyls and CD versions. Lo-Flo Records was created to archive and share the works of Jane McNealy, a classically trained pianist, composer and singer songwriter. Writer for Mercury records, under the wing of Jazz great Harold Battiste Jr. and Marzique Music Company, Jane has created a prolific 20 years body of R&B, Jazz and contemporary music.
I chose to work from what I felt listening to the main music of each album, dancing on it with my hands. Starting to draw symbols in the air, I used it to create the final designs. Each album has a symbol and stands like a word - for which Jane's music is the sentence.
