A milánói Teatro Piccolo-ról szóló nagy kiállítás egyik részét terveztük meg a La Triennale múzeumba. Shakespeare Viharának az 1977-ben bemutatott, Giorgio Strehler által rendezett verzióját dolgoztuk fel.
A teret két teljesen különböző részre osztottuk fel. Az elsőt egy installációval viharrá formáltuk, míg a második az ezt követő nyugalmat sugározza. Az eredeti díszlet jellegzetes kellékeit átformálva alakítottuk ki a kiállítótér elemeit. / We were designing part of an exhibition for La Triennale, which would introduce the story of Teatro Piccolo. Our topic was La Tempesta written by William Shakespeare, we processed the version of 1977 directed by Giorgio Strehler. We divided the space into two different parts. While the first was representing the storm with the help of an installation, the other showed the calmness afterwards. We took the main elements of the play such as suspended figures, fragmented floor, projected images on textiles and converted them into elements of the exhibition space.
A látogatók egy vihart imitáló installáció terébe lépnek be, ahol egy töredezett padlón sétálnak végig, miközben a textilből készült falakon az eredeti darab jeleneteit láthatják és a vihar hangjait hallják. A tér további részében a béke és a nyugalom dominál, ami a színeknek, a fényeknek és a háttérben megjelenő tenger képének a hatása. A darab egy ismert mondata: az „új bátor világ” inspirált minket a világtérkép sziluett megjelenítésére. Ennek két formája a padlóba süllyesztett térkép és a mennyezetről lelógatott földrész elemek. A teljes kép a galériáról áll össze. / The visitors first enter the installation, which has a fragmented floor, and they are surrounded by soft walls made of fabric. As they walk through this space they hear the music of the original play and see images projected onto the walls. The rest of the space shows peace and calmness with the help of colours, lights and the image of the see in the background. ‘O Brave new world’ a famous sentence of the play inspired us to design a silhouette of the world map. It appears twice: on the floor and in the form of suspended pieces. The whole image is visible from the mezzanine, which is a suspended structure as well.
