2017's participation in Inktober saw me embarking on a character design exercise to accompany a story I was writing. The story belonged to the fantasy genre and contained a land ruled by three women, each with her own area of expertise.

The Priestess's temple was by the sea and she used her powers to construct the laws of the land, ruling fairly and judging disputes by seeing into the hearts of men.

The Nymph lived in the forest and saw to good harvests and warned of storms after consulting with the faerie folk who brought her news of neighboring kingdoms as well.

The General, who appeared the most gentle but who had cut down her enemies in large swathes to protect her people, lived in the palace. She was frequently found in the conservatory where she found solace from the horrors of war in the quiet beauty of nature.

Together, they formed the 513th Triumvirate of the world.
