Resilience Gives
I first heard about Resilience Gives through a former professor who thought I would be interested in their open call for designers to link up with patients to design custom socks. The combination of collaboration, designing for good, and having the chance to work with a non-profit startup checked more than a few boxes on my ideal project list. Jake Teitelbaum, founder of Resilience Gives would put me in contact with a patient and then we would design a sock that reflected their personality. After prototyping the design it would then go on www.resilience.gives for a fundraising period. Once the sock reached the fundraising goal the sock would be available to purchase with a portion of the profits returning to the patients for treatment or to donate to a cause of their choice.

Each box contained a pair of custom designed socks, a patient bio card, and a post card.
The first project I worked on was the sock for Abby F. The process was so enjoyable that Jake, the patients, and I continued to work
on an additional 3 socks. Jake also tapped me to help him recreate the packaging and user experience of unboxing a pair of socks.
We designed a false bottom that could then be sent as a postcard to the patient of their choice so show support and love. I also had the opportunity to create various social media graphics and print materials with the Resilience team.
