Virtual Reality Project "VR Scared"
Idea
In context of the course "Virtual Reality" at university we had to create a whole VR project within 4 weeks. In a team of two people we decided to realize a experience where you can face various phobias. We wanted to show what's it like to be trapped inside your fear.


Concept

First we tried to find various phobias that could be displayed in virtual reality. Phobias like Arachnophobia, Thalassophobia and Claustrophobia and various others were possible to realize for a VR experience. At the beginning we chose to implement the fear of heights and the fear of confined places.



Implementation and Asset Creation

First we started with creating our design for the game and it's assets. We wanted to have a sterile environment like a testing lab. All 3D assets were created in Maya and after that imported in Unity3D. We chose Unity as engine because it supports a easy way to implement games or experiences with the HTC Vive.

Next we build the game logic with C#. We wrote various scripts to support our events in the experience.

The experience will be further developed.
