While developing their logo, Brooklyn band Gran Prismatic asked us to "create something that simultaneously feels familiar and completely new."

We strove to create a mark rooted in rock music, that would be as familiar as The Strokes or Amy Winehouse but stand out and represent the band's unique personality.

The logo draws inspiration from nature (and rock & roll). The band's name is a nod to the stunning (and bizarre) Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone Park. From that initial inspiration we then drew upon prism-shaped motifs.
