The Indian Railway website is used by millions of users to book and manage train tickets across India. Sadly very little attention was paid to the design of the website in the early 2000s. The government then published a competition for design proposals of the website. I submitted the below concept design which focused primarily on getting the information architecture right. The design of the live website has considerably improved over the years but unfortunately is still cluttered with a lot of unnecessary information.
