BACKGROUND
The coddling moth is a nasty piece of work that infests citrus crops in South Africa, laying eggs in the crops, spoiling the harvest and lowering yield. Currently, the moths are combatted with the spraying of poisonous pesticides.
GreenFly is on a mission to reduce pesticide use by using drones to release sterile moths over the crops. The sterile moths breed with the regular moths, and because they are sterile, they can not reproduce. This lowers the moth population, and makes for happy farmers and pesticide-free fruit. Yay!
