Our concept involved a reinvented shopping cart handle. We knew our product would have to utilize voice commands and distinct buttons and barcode scanners that would make the shopping process easier for blind and low-vision customers.
The final prototype was physically created to test the product and display it for presentation. A digital version was created using Rhinoceros 3D Software.
Each button on the device is developed to help shoppers that are blind or have low-vision to independently navigate shopping centers. It relies on voice commands and haptic feedback systems to direct the shopper around the store. A separate scanner is attached to the handle that will allow shoppers to scan barcodes and identify different objects.
