Spawn trees and watch an ecosystem flourish around them. Arboreal Demigod is a simulation game where you play as a woodland spirit, absorbing and creating life to build a forest. Spawn trees to feed animals with seeds. Put out forest fires with rain. Protect your forest from woodcutters and bask in the worship of followers.

It's a weird thing I made for fun using HTML5 canvas and Javascript. Graphics created in Adobe Illustrator. Character animations were created in Spriter Pro.

My goal for this project was to show the interconnectedness of all life. Plants and fungi develop strong connected networks in which they share resources. Animals depend on plants as a food source, and plants benefit when animals spread their seeds. Fungi benefit from corpses left behind by animals.
