Monograms/Logo design

The following project was aimed at creating a Monogram for Initial letters of my own name. The goal was to explore the different permutations and combinations and understand patterns and different types of it i.e. Seriation, Permutation, Aleatoric.
At the very start of the project, I was focussed completely on exploring the type-form relationship rather than the end result. The following is a set of first few monograms.
Post the exploration phase I was more focused on the way monograms looked and their tangibility, as well as perspective, uses such as in business cards, posters etc. The following is a set of more refined monograms that were developed after various design iterations.
Following was the final monogram chosen for further exercises. The parameters for the selection were creativity, abstract/artistic approach, legibility, originality, and font selection.
The font selected for the final monogram was Bungee Hairline.
Final Form-
As an additional exercise, we were asked to understand patterns and the three types of it i.e. seriation, permutation and aleatoric. The same monograms were then used to create these patterns as an exploratory exercise.
A permutation, also called is a rearrangement of the elements of an ordered list into a one to one correspondence with itself. In this sort of a pattern, you can clearly discern a repetitive pattern.
Seriation is just a linear repetition of a single element.
Aleatoric pattern is when there's a certain somewhat discernable pattern which is formed with a number of elements in a chaotic order.
