Women of Kerala
A personal project created for International Women's Day 2017 - a portrait series of three iconic women from Kerala history.

Nangeli, an Ezhava woman who cut off her breasts with a sickle to protest the Breast Tax in 19th century Kerala.

Unniyarcha - a legendary warrior of the 16th century, trained in Kalaripayattu and an expert in the Urumi (a long, flexible, whip-like sword.)

Umayamma Rani of Attingal - described as a 'young Amazon', who was 'feared and respected by everyone' and noted for her 'noble and manly conduct.'
